UK retail sales down 0.1% in October … TELETRADER


The quantity of goods bought in retail sales in the United Kingdom in October decreased 0.1% compared to the previous month, the Office for National Statistics reported on Thursday.

Food stores provided the largest negative contribution to the monthly fall.

The only positive contributions came from fuel and department stores.

Online sales accounted for 19.2% of all retailing in October, up by 0.1 percentage point compared to September.

The volume of retail sales in the three months to October was up by 0.2% quarter on quarter, while retail sales jumped 3.1% compared to the same month in 2018.
