Pakistan to halt bilateral trade with India over Kashmir
Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement on Wednesday that the National Security Committee decided to downgrade diplomatic relations with India and suspend bilateral trade between the two countries.
The move comes in response to India’s decision to revoke the autonomy of the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region and put the province under lockdown.
Earlier, Pakistan called New Delhi’s motion “illegal” and warned it is prepared to respond with “all possible options.”
In today’s statement, Islamabad added it will take the issue to the United Nations Security Council.
