Eurozone Trade Surplus Lowest Since Mid-2014
The euro area trade surplus declined to the lowest level in four years in July, figures from Eurostat showed Friday.
The trade surplus fell to a seasonally adjusted EUR 12.76 billion from EUR 16.47 billion in June.
This was the lowest since June 2014, when the surplus totaled EUR 12.22 billion.
Exports dropped 0.8 percent month-on-month, while imports grew 1.3 percent in July.
On an unadjusted basis, the trade surplus decreased to EUR 17.6 billion from EUR 21.6 billion last year.
On a yearly basis, exports advanced 9.4 percent and imports increased 13.4 percent in July.
